Wynn Las Vegas hosted the annual announcement of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2024, sponsored by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. The event was a celebration of culinary art and innovation, bringing together leading chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality industry personalities from around the world. For many, this rating is a source of inspiration and development, reflecting the highest standards in gastronomy.

The 2024 ranking includes restaurants from 26 countries on five continents, which demonstrates the global diversity and high quality of culinary establishments. 


In addition to the overall rating, winners in special nominations were announced: 

1. Best Pastry Chef - Nina Metaye;

2. Best sommelier - Pablo Rivero;

3. Best female chef - Yanaina Torres. 


How and when did The World's 50 Best Restaurants rating appear?


The World's 50 Best is headquartered in London and owned by William Reed Business Media. This rating, created by the editors of the British magazine Restaurant almost as a joke 22 years ago, quickly gained popularity among readers. Initially, the idea originated as an entertainment project, but over time it has evolved into a traditional rating that has become an important benchmark in the world of gastronomy.

The voting system is based on a survey of restaurant business professionals, including chefs, sommeliers and restaurateurs. The voting also involves media representatives, critics, bloggers, and foodies - people who are not professionally involved in gastronomy but have a high level of expertise in food and restaurants. These enthusiasts travel a lot, which allows them to evaluate the cuisine of different countries and the skills of chefs, creating a comprehensive and objective rating of the world's best restaurants.

1.Disfrutar, Barcelona, Spain


Chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Shatrukh and Mateu Casañas are celebrating a special year: their restaurant Disfrutar not only celebrates its tenth anniversary, but also won the titles of the best restaurant in the world and Europe in 2024. Disfrutar offers two 30-course menus: "Classic and Festival. 

Among the most famous dishes are Thai-style cuttlefish and Pancino donut with caviar. These exquisite culinary creations reflect the innovative approach and high skill of the chefs, making Disfrutar a true gastronomic masterpiece.


2. Asador Etxebarri, Achondo, Spain


In a quiet Basque village, Victor Arguinzonis creates real culinary masterpieces, focusing on natural flavors. His 14-course menu features such exquisite dishes as anchovies on toast and milk ice cream with beets. 

Thanks to its unique approach, the restaurant has been consistently ranked high in the rankings since 2009, winning the hearts of gourmets from all over the world.


3. Table by Bruno Verjus, Paris, France


Table restaurant impresses with its unique design and open kitchen, creating a unique atmosphere for guests. Chef Bruno Verjus surprises with seasonal dishes such as asparagus with seaweed and lobster with sugar snap peas. 

Exceptional service and a stunning wine selection have earned the restaurant a high ranking since its first appearance on the list in 2023.


4. DiverXO, Madrid, Spain


Chef Dabiz Muñoz impresses his guests with creative and unexpected dishes, such as Japanese paella and fried caviar with curried vindaloo. The restaurant is known for its theatrical approach and unique culinary combinations. 

Its cuisine is described as “hedonistic, creative and unpredictable”. In addition, the restaurant boasts a wine list created by the world's best sommelier of 2023, Miguel Angel Millan.


5. Maido, Lima, Peru


Chef Mitsuharu “Micha” Tsumura creates unique dishes by combining Japanese techniques and Peruvian ingredients in an elegant restaurant in Miraflores. His menu includes dishes such as avocado with egg and caracoles al sillao. 

For his skills, Micha was awarded the Estrella Damm Chefs' Choice Award in 2024.

6. Atomix, New York, USA


Atomix restaurant demonstrates Korean cuisine at the highest level. Chef Jonghyun “JP” Park and his wife Ellie Park create dishes that harmoniously combine tradition and innovation, such as lamb with deodok and shrimp trepang. 

Each dish is accompanied by explanatory cards that provide information about the ingredients, origin, and concept of the dish. In 2024, Atomix was recognized as the best restaurant in North America.


7. Quintonil, Mexico City, Mexico


Chef Jorge Vallejo and his wife Alejandra Flores create dishes at Quintonil with fresh local ingredients. Their seasonal menu includes such exquisite dishes as duck pibil tamales and braised oxtail. 

Quintonil stands out for its unique take on traditional Mexican flavors, offering guests a new gastronomic experience.


8. Alchemist, Copenhagen, Denmark


The Alchemist restaurant, led by Chef Rasmus Munk, offers an unusual culinary journey that combines classic techniques with modern research. Dishes are served in a theatrical setting, focusing on important social issues. 

Guests are offered theatrical dinners under a domed roof, where the schedule changes according to the dishes served, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.


9. Gaggan, Bangkok, Thailand


The Indian chef Gaggan Anand creates a unique culinary experience in his restaurant, combining progressive Indian cuisine with elements of French, Thai and Japanese cooking. He offers guests a unique culinary adventure that combines the diverse flavors and traditions of several cultures. 

Gaggan is known for its talent and culinary excellence, which is reflected in its high ranking in the 2024 Asia's Best Restaurants, confirming its popularity among gourmets and critics.


10. Don Julio, Buenos Aires, Argentina


In 1999, the Don Julio restaurant was opened by Pablo Rivero, who specializes in high-quality Argentine steaks and meat delicacies. Chef Guido Tassi develops a menu that emphasizes seasonal and local products, giving the dishes freshness and authenticity. 

The restaurant is also proud of its wine cellar, which contains more than 14,000 Argentine wines, offering visitors a refined experience in pairing meat dishes with wines.
