One of the key aspects when applying for a visa is confirmation of the availability of a sufficient amount of funds for the trip. The minimum bank balance is the amount of money you must have in your account to prove that you have the financial ability to pay for your stay abroad. In addition, it also demonstrates to the embassy or consulate that you have sufficient financial resources to return to your country after your visit.

What amount must be in the account to get a visa? It depends on the country of destination and the type of permit.

We have collected data from different countries of the world in our new material.

What can affect the amount of the minimum balance on the bank account for obtaining a visa?

The following factors affect the size of the minimum balance on the bank account for obtaining a visa:

- Country of destination. The minimum bank balance may vary from country to country as accommodation and travel costs may vary.

- Duration of the trip. The longer the trip, the higher the minimum bank balance requirement will be, as the applicant will need to demonstrate that they can support themselves financially for a longer period.

- Personal circumstances. The embassy or consulate may take the applicant's circumstances into account when assessing minimum bank balance requirements. For example, if the applicant is traveling with his family, the minimum bank balance requirement may be higher.

- The type of visa can also affect the minimum bank balance. For example, if an applicant is applying for a long-term or work visa, the minimum bank balance requirements may be higher.

USA

- Guest visa B1/B2

To visit the US on a b1/b2 visa, your budget should be at least $3,000 - $6,000 for a family of 4 (also include airfare from your destination to the US). Taking this into account, we recommend displaying at least $6,000 - $10,000 in the statement.

- Tourist visa to the USA

You must have a balance of $6,000 to $10,000 in your account. However, it is very important that this amount reflects your regular income and not a sudden deposit made just before submitting your visa application.

- Student visa

There is no fixed minimum bank balance for a US student visa, but you must have at least $10,000.

Canada

- Student visa

The bank balance requirement for a Canadian study permit is the sum of your annual tuition fees and annual living expenses. The minimum tuition fee for a Canadian university is 15,000 CAD. The minimum cost of living in Canada is approximately 10,000 Canadian dollars. So, for a Canadian student visa, the minimum bank balance requirement is (C$15,000 + C$10,000) = approximately C$25,000 ($18,500).

Philippines

The bank balance required for a Philippines visa is around $1,000.

United Kingdom

There is no set amount of money required for a UK visa as it depends on the individual's circumstances and the purpose of their visit to the country.

On this basis, if you are traveling alone and think your trip will cost £2,000, the recommended amount in your bank account should be at least £3,000 in the previous six months.
