A modern person spends a significant part of his life on his phone: social networks, news feeds, watching video content. Almost everyone has a time when it seems that you are already completely chained to your phone. That is why one of the most popular vacation destinations in 2023 is a break from the digital world.
Travel insurance company InsureMyTrip has conducted research and named the 5 best cities in the world for a digital detox.

How was the analysis conducted?
When conducting the research, InsureMyTrip experts took many aspects into consideration. Specialists investigated how many events are held in the city, which could distract the tourist from viewing the feed of social networks. How safe is it in the city and is it necessary to use the phone. And in general, how accessible the Internet is in each country, because nothing reduces the length of time travelers use their phone like the lack of free Wi-Fi in the city.
The main sources for research were authoritative tourist portals: TomTom, City Population, Booking.com, Google Maps, Pedestrian First, Viator, Numbeo, etc. Each city was rated on a scale from 1 to 10 points.
It is interesting to note that all five of the best cities for digital detox were located in Europe.
5th place - Copenhagen, Denmark
One of the main reasons why Copenhagen took the fifth place in the ranking of the most popular holiday destinations without a phone was the lack of free Internet access in the city. There is a real shortage of free Wi-Fi in the capital of Denmark. In terms of the amount of free internet, Denmark is on the same level as Ghana and South Africa.
Feel at home in any country in the world! Protect yourself from unforeseen expenses and situations during your trip by taking out reliable insurance
4th place - Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon is home to one of the best spas in the world and a great place for a digital detox. Also, the capital of Portugal can offer tourists many interesting events and activities.
3rd place – Amsterdam, Netherlands
Although many coffee shops in Amsterdam offer the tourist free Wi-Fi, the local beauty and entertainment so quickly envelops the traveler that he simply forgets about the phone. A bicycle ride through the small streets of the city, a trip through numerous canals, museums, galleries, as well as world-class spa centers will allow the tourist to enjoy a real digital detox.
2nd place - Rome, Italy
The Eternal City has a lot to offer tourists: delicious cuisine, mysterious landscapes, and historical heritage. Numerous parks will be the best place for recreation in the fresh air. There are also many pedestrian zones in Rome. Walk around the city or rent a scooter to explore all the beauty and grandeur of Rome. The Italian capital will captivate you so much that at one point the tourist will completely forget about the phone.
Booking a tour will also help you avoid technological temptations. A professional guide will help you explore the old town in the best possible way.
1st place - Prague, Czech Republic
The amazing capital of the Czech Republic took first place in the ranking of the best cities for a digital detox.
Prague is a wonderful city for walking, which is full of unique architecture and beautiful streets. The traffic in the city is also not very active, the average travel time of a tourist lasts about 16 minutes, so sitting on the phone for a long time will not work.
The world is full of amazing cities and beautiful nature, so even a very short trip will allow you to take a break from your phone.
